Just as the President looked up toward us two shots rang out and I saw the President grab his chest and fall forward across Jackie’s lap and she fell across his back ad said "My God he has been shot." There was instant pause between the first two shots an the motorcade seemingly halted for an instant and three or four more shots rang out and the motorcade sped away.

[ Report does not reveal if Hill was asked the source of the shots. ]

Mrs. HILL.  Well, the consensus of opinion at police down there at the quarters was that there had been only three shots, so I said well, what’s wrong with me? They kept saying, are you sure it wasn’t echoes? Do you think it was firecrackers? And I said, no, I knew it was bullets.
Mr. LANE.  Who said that, the reporters or the Secret...
Mrs. HILL.  The FBI.
Mr. LANE.  The FBI. Did the FBI ever tell you that there were only three shots fired?
Mrs. HILL.  A Secret Service man told me. I said, how come, am I a kook or what’s wrong?
I said, I heard more than three shots and yet you keep giving out this information that there were three shots fired. He said, no, Miss Hill, we heard more than that ourselves, but we have three wounds and three shells, so we only are saying three shots.

Mrs. Hill stated she heard from four to six shots in all and believes they came from a spot just west of the Texas School Book Depository Building.

I frankly thought they [shots] were coming from the knoll.
